New Book Publication: "Management of Uncertainty"

Innovative capability and uncertainty are inextricably linked with each other. Over a period of more than two years IMO-project managed a transdisciplinary expert group on the topic "Management of Uncertainty - Key to Innovation". The academic results of this expert group are now published in a specific anthology. The book "Management von Ungewissheit: Neue Ans�tze jenseits von Kontrolle und Ohnmacht" (Management of Uncertainty: New Approaches beyond Control and Incapacity. Book is only available in German language) introduces and explains a new perspective of the academic and practical treatment of uncertainty. For further information about the book use this link. Innovation Union Competitiveness Report 2011

The Innovation Union is one of seven leading initiatives to implement the economic strategy "Europe 2020" of the European Union. The intended results of the Innovation Union are fast-growing, innovative enterprises that create new jobs and result in a high social profit through innovative products and services. Every second year a comprehensive strategy report on the competitiveness of the EU and its member nations is published that serves as a socio-economic status quo and as a basis for (european and national) political decisions. Delivery of Previous IMO results to the BMBF

At the 3rd BMBF Future Forum in Berlin the head of the BMBF department �Innovative Work Design and Services�, Mr. RD Rudolf Leisen recieved the �Result Papers� of the IMO Fields of Action on 31 March, 2011 from the project head, Mr. Sven Trantow. The paper presents the results of a two-year research and communication process within the Project International Monitoring of national experts in the scope of the four thematic fields of Action:

"Management of Uncertainty � Key to Innovation",
"Competence Development, Work Systems, Work Processes � An Innovative Challenge",
"Innovative Capability and Change of Work" and
"Intellectual Capital".

The results sketch the �state of the art� of current research, derive research demands from the viewpoint of new ways to foster innovative capability and hint at possible research and design formats.

3rd Future Forum on Innovative Capability �Innovation Serving Society�

On March 31 through April 1, 2011, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research hosts the 3rd Future Forum on Innovative Capability. During this conference, motors and obstacles to innovation in modern working environments are being discussed. The first day has the motto �Ensuring Sustainable Innovative Capability in Enterprises�. The contributions revolve around measures and developments from an entrepreneur viewpoint. The second day focuses on the challenges to employees caused by changes in working life. The motto of this day therefore is �Change in Work and Employment�. The event offers possibilities to exchange experiences with international experts from economy, science and politics. Moreover it serves to foster contact and to discuss current insights from the fields of personnel, organizational and competence development. The IMO project is represented at this conference with its own forum headlined �International Monitoring to Strengthen Innovative Capability � Innovation Strategies in International Comparison�.
